In October, 2015, I was working at my own place of business. I was working all alone. Three men came in with a gun and tried to rob me.

I pulled out my gun and shot 2 out of 3 of them. Unfortunately I was also shot in the head and left for dead. I woke up 12 days later in Spaulding Rehab in Boston, Massachusetts. I learned that I had acquired a TBI. I had literally lost the use of my whole left side.

The 3 robbers are now serving many years in prison.

I started rehab immediately. My life has changed from that October day forward. I have been fighting very hard to get myself back to functional. Everyone around me sees the gains that I have made, but I have a hard time seeing them for myself.

It has been almost 2 years since the shooting and I have relearned things but it is a hard road for very small gains.

I do believe in time that I will make a good recovery. I have also accepted the fact that it is going to take TIME:
